Health and Safety for Artists: Finding Articles

If you are off campus, you will need to log-in through a proxy server using the same username and password you use to log-on to a computer on campus.

This is your best bet for finding periodical articles. You may want to do several different searches to find an appropriate article.

• In first dialog box, type in your subject term or phrase you wish to search.
• On that same line, change the type of search to a SUBJECT search by changing the “select a field (optional)” drop down box to SU subject.
• If desired, you can limit your search to full-text articles only or to a specific publication time period.

The broadest subject phrase for searching articles on art health hazards is ART MATERIALS – SAFETY MEASURES

You can narrow your search by adding a specific media, such as

GLASS  – SAFETY MEASURES

PAINTING – SAFETY MEASURES

PHOTOGRAPHY – SAFETY MEASURES

POTTERS – SAFETY MEASURES
